Oh Taya

We took Taya to Petco to get her nails trimmed, and she was not happy about that. She was jerking and pulling and biting....it was a mess. When we got home, she had ripped her dew claw half off. A few days later, the whole thing finally ripped off. When we went to the vet yesterday they found that it is a little bit infected. So poor Taya had to have it wrapped and is now on antibiotics.
We also found out that she has blood vessels growing across the top of her cornea and now has to be on steroid drops every day and could possibly go blind in the near future. There is nothing sadder than an aging dog (Taya is soon to be 9 years old). Her graying muzzle and occasional limp make my heart ache for the day when we will have to say goodbye. Oh Taya....
