The New Digs

Have I mentioned how much I love our new house.  I thought I would show the Before/After changes now that we've moved in and are completely settled.

Here's the kitchen.  They didn't have an island so I added one from Ikea.  It makes a huge difference in the amount of available counter space in the kitchen.

Here's the full kitchen/dining room.

Family room.  

This is where we spend 98% of our time.  Even though we have the huge TV downstairs, we almost always end up watching on our tiny screen.

I love the floor-to-ceiling window that the dogs can lay in front of and I love my black and white chair.  What started as my most apathetic room has quickly become one of my favorites.

My true favorite room is my music room.

I replicated the layout from the old house identically and I love it, especially with the floor-to-ceiling windows.  It's a great room.

Owen's room.  It started out as a Cat in the Hat room.  We made it into a Cars room based on the Ramone purple he chose for the walls. 

Beck wanted a silver and black room.  It feels very teenagery.  

The main bathroom.  

I stained the wood to give it a more updated feel.  I want to redo the pink tile, but that might have to wait a while.

And my library.  

There are no before pictures for this one because it was just a little random room.  I quickly decided that it would make a perfect library.  I haven't used it a ton yet (it's freezing in the basement in the winter), but I plan on spending lots of time reading in here.

That's our cute little house.  I can't wait for the spring when I can show you some updated pictures of the backyard when our garden has sprouted and our eco-friendly fire pit is in.....I have grand plans!
