If you've spent any amount of time with me over the last few months, I'm sure you've seen how utterly worthless I have been. The tendons in my hands have been stuck inside an inflamed tendon sheath and so I haven't been able to straighten my fingers, flatten my hands, open a twist top, or pick up anything heavier than a paper clip. I decided I just couldn't take it anymore, and Scott was getting tired of coming home to operate the can opener, so I had surgery last week to cut the sheaths around my tendons. When the doctor opened up my right hand, he said, "Wow! That's impressive! There's a whole bunch of crap in there!" As he cut my sheath, I could feel my finger snap open. I had to wear the bandages all weekend which got pretty annoying, but there wasn't a whole lot of pain surprisingly.
It felt so good to unveil my hands on Sunday night and I can actually use them again today. The incision sites are tender but the pain is not nearly as bad as it was before surgery.
As soon as the swelling goes down, I will be crossing my fingers that this is going to finally fix me.
