"Real" Soccer

We are no longer just playing around. According to Beck, he is now playing "real" soccer. It now supposedly counts and having fun isn't nearly important as winning....Beck says all this but I don't think he actually believes it. There is not an aggressive bone in his tiny little body. He would never dream of pushing or shoving another player, although Scott and I do our darndest to talk him into just that from the sidelines. He's just too nice...maybe I'll take him out into the backyard and push him around for awhile to toughen him up.
But, his game was absolutely hilarious! Here he is warming up his muscles.

This looks a bit like an action shot, but he is really just walking alongside the ball ever so slowly practicing his dribbling.

And, of course, there was the requisite kid doing somersaults in the middle of the game.

Hopefully he inherited at least a little bit of my competitive genes and they are laying dormant until just the right situation presents itself...then he will dominate!

Give it time. Carmen's entire team just watched the ball go by every game last season. Then finally at the last game it just clicked and she scored 2 goals.
