Eight Years

Scott and I were married eight years ago today. It seems like it has flown by, and yet it seems like we've always been together. Scott and I have been friends for 15 years, which is half of my life. Even when I was dating other guys in high school, he was always nicer to me than them. He was the one who would drive me home, and he sometimes even paid for me.
Scott is still my best friend. I would rather spend time with him than anyone else in the whole world. He knows me better than anyone else....and surprisingly enough he still likes me! He is also a great psychologist and is constantly helping me work through my many issues.
I loved our wedding day. There are so many things about that day that are just a blur, but others that stick out so clearly. Scott and I had to wait for the sealing ceremony that morning and got to sit in the celestial room for like 15 minutes while we waited, and I remember thinking how perfect that was. It was such a beautiful day on our wedding day, but the next day was a freakin' blizzard. I am still so glad that we did not have a reception. We left our wedding lunch by 3:00, and we always laugh at the poor suckers who are stuck standing in a reception line until 11:00 at night. We were so glad to be able to just relax with our family and a few friends and actually enjoy ourselves.
I'm still thankful everyday that I ended up with Scott, and, as my family will attest to, marrying him is the best thing I've ever done!

You were so beautiful that day in your stunning gown! I still love the headband that you wore, so perfect for you!! I also loved that you skipped the traditional reception, Paul and I followed suit as did every other member of my family!! Brilliant idea! Congratulations on your Anniversary- here's to many more to come!
