After years of hard work trying to graduate from high school, months of working on filling out his papers, weeks of healing after getting his wisdom teeth out, and days of waiting for the call to come, we headed down to the Hanson's house to open up Cam's mission call. We all made our guesses and then sat around and waited and waited for everyone to show up.
Cam was getting very antsy with all the waiting.
Finally! The big moment! With a little help from Schroepf, he got the envelope open, found the important information, and discovered that he is headed to the San Fernando Valley in California. Owen guessed California so he won the prize which was a bag of candy bars. He was very excited!
Everybody was shocked, excited, and happy for Cam.
Since Wendy was in South Carolina for her dad's birthday party, she had to join the party via FaceTime. She immediately started freaking out because Cam leaves in a short five weeks.
Although our relationship with The Church is quite shaky right now, I am so excited for Cam and for the adventure he is headed for. Owen and Beck are looking forward to often writing Cam letters and hearing about his two-year quest.
Watch out California! Here he comes!
