On Saturday, we went to a performance of The Pupcracker which is The Nutcracker put on by therapy dogs. Our favorite tricks were when a dog rode a scooter and when the princess got in bed and covered herself up with her blanket. So sweet!
All the dogs did such a wonderful job.
These cute little things ran out from under Mother Buffoon's skirt.
I have the greatest respect for these dogs and all the hard work they do to provide comfort, love, and therapy options for sick and disabled people. My dream is one day to train a dog and join the ranks of therapy dogs.
This was Uncle Drosselmeyer. Isn't he handsome?
The Nutcracker Prince.
And my favorite of the night....a blind dog in a wheelchair who was just about the sweetest dog I have ever met. What an inspiration! The boys loved it, and I was in heaven watching all these wonderful dogs showing off their stuff.
On a side, yet pet-related, note. Scott chose the best White Elephant gift ever! He opened up the present and it was two goldfish and a can of Pringles ("fish and chips"). Owen chose the names Tom and Jerry and they have taken up permanent residence in our kitchen. Every morning the boys come downstairs and immediately check to see if they are still alive.....so far, so good!
