We have been doing some projects around our house. The problem is that this first project started three years ago! When we moved in (nine years ago), the master bathroom was unusable because the shower surround had mold growing behind it. So we just closed the door, used the boys' bathroom, and kept saying, "Someday we'll create our dream Master Bath....." Six years later, Scott finally started with the demolition work on the bathroom. But then, as often happens, renovation funds quickly dried up, and that project got put on the back burner....until now.
Before
After
Scott did some amazing tile work! I absolutely love the tile on the floor of the shower and the pebbles on the border. I think it is beautiful!
We tried to keep it very simple because the bathroom is so small, but again, I absolutely love it! I love not having to share a toilet with two small boys who are still learning how to aim. Unfortunately, I still have to share with one large boy who is perfecting his aim....
Our next project came about much more suddenly. For about the last year now I have been having trouble with the keys on my piano so I decided that it was time to listen to the experts and move it from the outside wall to an inside wall. However, in order to make this move, we would have to get rid of a couch. As long as we were at it, I figured we should repaint and redecorate. So I got on eBay and got a bunch of old instruments, hit the TJ Maxx for some accessory furniture, and hung Scott's guitars on the wall.
So now instead of a formal living room, we have a music room that I love. I just sit in this room and smile. For me, it epitomizes calm, peace, and inspiration.
I wonder what projects I can come up with next? Maybe blow out that wall, bring down that supporting beam, put a window in here....the possibilities are endless!
