My family went on a trip up to Lava Hot Springs this summer, and it was a blast! We had fun running the river and we were very grateful that we only had minor injuries, although they were plentiful. We had heat rash, knife cuts, gashes from lava rock, and swollen bums and knees from the river.
But despite the injuries, we felt like we grew closer as a family, especially Jon and Scott.
There was a water park right next to the campground and, once we found some shade, it was awesome, especially the high dive. Jon and Dustin became especially good at synchronized diving....and synchronized slipping and almost dying.
Scott was assigned to be the camp cook and we ate very well on this trip.
Owen definitely appreciated the good food!
There was always work to be done. The kids were more than happy to help by playing with the water pump...I mean by getting water for dinner.
Jon has a knack for finding the best spot to relax.
It was a really fun trip, and I always love spending time with my family.

Looks like fun, we might have to try that place next year.
Now tell me why don't you want to go camping this weekend?
