Strawberry Lake

We went to "Strawberry Lake," as Beck likes to call it, with Jon and Heather for the 4th. We had so much fun! We stayed up at Heather's parents cabin. We took all the pups with us, and Beck and Griffin liked to run around on the big dusty driveway. Beck had disgusting dirty toenails by the time we got home. YUCK!
Scott took Beck for a ride on the 4-wheeler, and Beck liked having the helmet on and going fast on the 4-wheeler.
Scott gave Beck a quick lesson in how to cast and reel in the line. He had time to do this as we sat at the dock for two hours waiting for Jon to drive back to the cabin to get his wallet so that he could buy a new battery for the boat. This was after we tried to jump start it for an hour but it would not hold a charge at all!
He loved it!
Jon....I don't even know what else to say....he thinks he's funny.
Jon and Heather.
Scott was so happy when he caught the first fish of the day. He threw it back because it was approximately 3 inches long. He was still pretty proud that he was the only one who had caught a fish....
until Beck caught this fish. It was about12 inches long. Scott was sufficiently humbled to say the least. We gave Beck the choice of throwing the fish back or keeping it. We warned him that if we kept it, we had to kill it and he couldn't keep it like a pet. He thought about it for a minute and said, "I want to kill it and keep it and eat it for dinner." Scott barbecued it for him and he ate his very own fish. Beck kept saying that he was very "apressed" (impressed) that he caught a fish all by himself.

It was so nice to get out of the city and out of the heat for a few days. The high up at Strawberry was only 85 degrees both days. It was also nice to get Jake away from the fireworks on the 4th. He gets so anxious because of the booms that we have to sedate him.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
