RSL Race

Last Saturday, Beck did a race at Rio Tinto stadium.  So far, this was my favorite race that Beck has done for lots of reasons....

We got to meet Leo the Lion,

Beck got a free RSL ticket so we all got to go to the soccer game that night,

and Beck got a great time (just over a mile in 11:16).  Also, Grandma, Grandpa, Jamie, and Lance came to watch his race and we went for breakfast after - always a selling point!  Beck only has one race left and it's a big one - 2.5 miles - but we have until the end of August to train for it.....

For our activity this week, we took Trax up to the U to the Museum of Fine Arts.  Unfortunately, it was the coldest day so far this summer (46 degrees) and raining.  When we left our house, it was still 57 degrees and clear so we got caught really unprepared.  We called this our oxymoron activity because it was miserably fun.

We had to say goodbye to Rhodey a few weeks ago.  Alas, he has gone to a better place.....no he didn't die.  Because I'm thinking of either going to back to work/school in the fall and I know that Rhodey's separation anxiety would not tolerate the long days apart, we gave him to some neighbors down the street who are going to use him as a therapy dog for their sick father and will be able to be with him all the time.  It has turned out to be such an amazing fit for them; and, we still get to see him around the neighborhood!  Perfect solution!  I miss him like crazy, but it definitely was the right choice for everyone.
