2012!?!?!

We decided there was one advantage to being snowily disadvantaged this December - we could still get up to the cabin! Well sort of....we had to park at the bottom of the hill and hike up (50 yards), but usually this late in the year we have to park on the street and hike up the mountain (1-1/2 miles). It was quite chilly when we got there so we quickly got the heaters turned on, the fire going, and it was soon a balmy 50 degrees before we even knew it!

Watching Shrek the Third.

Scott couldn't handle all the excitement and slept through our rousing game of Phase 10.

The boys made it until about 10:00 on New Year's Eve, and Scott and I lasted until 11:45. The boys woke up feeling refreshed and had to ring in the New Year with some rowdiness and wrestling.

We have been waiting all season to do some sledding, and the boys were so excited to finally try out there new saucer.
Scott and Owen.

Beck and I flying by.

We had so much fun and only had one near-death experience. I was supposed to catch Owen at the "bottom" of the hill. He slipped right by me and made it to the real bottom of the hill, past the car, past the next cabin, and into a grove of trees. He was pretty shaken up but not hurt, just had some pine needles in his hair. I was worried he would be scarred for life, but when Beck said he was going to go next, Owen screamed, "No! It's my turn!" He's such a stud!

Beck was exhausted as we drove home after lunch at the Silver Fork Lodge. He takes after his mother and is definitely not built for late nights.

Owen was still raring to go!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you enjoy 2012 - according to the Mayans this will be it so make it count!
