We headed down to St. George this weekend for a nice long UEA break. We stayed at a wonderful little condo that had an amazing clubhouse. Some of our plans ultimately got ruined simply because the boys didn't want to leave the property. They loved playing air hockey, and foosball, and swimming, and shuffleboard, and basketball, and tennis, and even miniature golf!
Swimming was definitely the highlight of our weekend. Owen liked relaxing, but he forgot his sunglasses so he had to borrow my tinted goggles.
Thursday night we went to Tuacahn to see Mary Poppins. It was amazing, especially as she floated away with her umbrella up the side of the mountain. Unfortunately, we were supposed to go hiking bright and early the next morning in Zion's, but an 11:00 bedtime thwarted those plans. So, instead, we went up the road to Snow Canyon to see the Lava Tubes.
Starting the descent....
I faced every single one of my claustrophobic fears during this hike and I ventured into the darkness. I just had to remind myself to breathe.
The next day we went up to Red Cliff Reef where we found some amazing pools.
Owen's thick skull hiding among the rocks.
Beautiful!
Conquered the climb!
This was the craziest part of the hike. We had to swing around a sheer cliff with just a few steps in the rock and a rope bolted to the top. Not too bad for Beck and I, but Owen was just too little so Scott had to play the part of the pack horse and get him across. It was touch and go there for a minute, but they made it.
It was a perfect weekend and I loved every minute of it!
