My Favorite Little Nook

On our list of things to do for years has been to redecorate our bedroom, but, as always happens, it seemed to fall to the bottom of the list over and over.  Our bedroom has always been very functional -- we slept and dressed in there -- but it wasn't very pretty.  It was filled with hand-me-down furniture and whatever paint color was left over from the other rooms.  Not exactly what I dreamed of.

Then....Scott took me over to the model home of McArthur Homes and I fell in love with their wainscoting throughout the house.  I came home fantasizing of how I could make it work in our house, and I soon settled on a design concept for our bedroom.  After a very long weekend, with Scott's help, my dream bedroom came to fruition....

We did the wainscot very high (5-1/2) feet, and it totally made the room look and feel bigger.

This is now my favorite nook in the whole house.  I feel like I have a tiny little sanctuary now (and the best part -- the chair reclines!)

Now I have a fully functional AND fully fantastic bedroom.

The perfect place to escape from the world (and the kids.)
